Growing Herbs At My Window

On Saturday I saw a lot of people outside gardening and I was envious.  I wish I had a garden to tend to.  I wonder if I put a small pot on the windowsill if the seeds would grow.  I know I wouldn’t be able to grow berries or tomatoes due to limited space but herbs is better than nothing. At this point would the herbs grow or is it to late to plant seeds?  If I can still grow them I’ll check out
